Local authorities create, use and publish thousands of datasets about assets, places, services and how they meet people’s needs. One of the limiting factors of making better use of the data is the quality and the lack of consistency by the many local publishing organisations, making it difficult to share, compare and combine data for use in digital transformation and data analytics.
This LGA event organised with support from iStandUk on “Making standards work” will focus on some existing standards and how they can be used to facilitate the wider publishing, sharing and use of data across organisations and in digital tools. It invites a discussion on the future needs of standards development in the local government sector to inform future investment and meet the demands of devolution, health and social care integration, procurement and commissioning, housing, economic and infrastructure planning and self-service applications. Suitable for Business change and ICT managers, system and data architects and analyst.
