Sheffield City Council have published their online Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) as part of an open data strategy. The JSNA contains a library of searchable demographic and public health datasets.

The aim of the JSNA is to act as an online data resource which “provides an evidence base for the Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy and the context for all other health needs assessments for the city”.

The assessment is being published online on a phased basis and is not yet complete.

It is hoped that, by publishing data in this way, other consumers who may have ideas regarding apps etc will be encouraged to support Sheffield and the wider use of JSNA data sets.
