About iStandUK

iStandUK is a part of the iNetwork family; our ‘accountable body’ is Tameside Council, who’s standing orders and financial regulations we adhere to.

Our funding predominantly comes from sponsorship from government departments, such as DCLG and DWP.

Our steering board includes representatives from local authorities, departments, and other representative groups, such as the LGA, SOCITM, the Information Commissioner’s Office, and Intellect.

What is an eStandard?

We define the scope of e-standards as

Data Quality – the confidence to use information
Rights – permission to use information
Trust – who is accessing information
Transport – how to move information
Information Governance – the behaviour and culture to protect and exploit information
Discovery – who has what information

iStandUK Chair Introduction

The sector is waking up to the importance of information standards, without which we find we struggle to communicate and work effectively. iStandUK’s work this year has included supporting DWP and council electronic communications, Smart Cities, the Code of Practice on Transparency and developing a new data ecosystem for complex families. The results of this will be visible to many Local Authorities and Partners, iStandUK is providing support and expertise to individual organisations.
